| Title: 73% Chance of Rain Author: Smitty Fandom/Pairing: Criminal Minds, Rossi/Prentiss Rating: PG-13 Spoilers: Not really, but set about six months after 4x07: Memoriam Misc: I wrote this months ago, when I wanted a reminder of my ability to actually finish a thing. It pales in the shadow of wojelah and mingsmommy's recent tales but it is what it is. Many thanks to wojelah and shetiger who told me it wasn't bad and reccea who finally made me believe it and gave it a name. Fly free, little fic! ( 73% Chance of Rain ) | |

| Title: Against Her Better Judgment Author: Smitty Pairing: NC-17/FRAO Summary: "I'm not going to be more okay if we stop," Dave counters. Notes: Part 1 and Part 2, all accompanying explanations. This is an experiment in me trying to write something short. Please feel free to laugh hysterically. As always, much love and thanks to wojelah for cheerleading, betaing, and letting me have an extra 500 words to finish up. (This part: 2000 words. Total: 5,000 words.) "That would be a good thing for them to cut on my tombstone: Wherever she went, including here, it was against her better judgment." -Dorothy Parker, 'But the One on the Right,' in New Yorker, 1929( Emily's Story: Against Her Better Judgment, Part 3/3 ) | |

| Title: Against Her Better Judgment Author: Smitty Pairing: Emily Prentiss/David Rossi, Criminal Minds Rating: This part is R/FRM (how does this work again?) but will eventually be NC-17/FRAO Summary: "Emily thinks of Hotch telling the Milwaukee PD, he puts women on a pedestal... and reminds herself she has a long way to fall." Notes: Part 1 and all accompanying explanations. This is an experiment in me trying to write something short. Please feel free to laugh hysterically. As always, much love and thanks to wojelah for cheerleading, betaing, and axing 200 words. :) "That would be a good thing for them to cut on my tombstone: Wherever she went, including here, it was against her better judgment." -Dorothy Parker, 'But the One on the Right,' in New Yorker, 1929( Emily's Story: Against Her Better Judgment, Part 2/3 ) | |

| This is, by the way, the Emily-in-fishnets fic. Title: Against Her Better Judgment Author: Smitty Pairing: Emily Prentiss/David Rossi, Criminal Minds Rating: This part is PG-13/Teen but will eventually be NC-17/FRAO Summary: "Rossi looks up then, and for a moment their eyes meet and Emily doesn't want to do this anymore." Notes: This was written for wojelah who gave me a Dorothy Parker quote and 500 words. The actual length of this is 1500 words. I begged 500 and stole the rest. And then convinced her to let me have parts 2 and 3. "That would be a good thing for them to cut on my tombstone: Wherever she went, including here, it was against her better judgment." -Dorothy Parker, 'But the One on the Right,' in New Yorker, 1929( Emily's Story: Against Her Better Judgment ) | |

| Title: Brisance: That's Beverly Hills for Broken Pairing: Ben Sherman (Sherman/Cooper) Rating: R Warnings/Spoilers: Spoilers through 1x03: See the Woman Summary: Ben Sherman's all alone. And he doesn't want to close his eyes. Author’s notes: Written with much love for shetiger who wrote me fic to keep me sane during a final. ( Brisance: That's Beverly Hills for Broken ) | |

| So, apparently my new comfort activity is writing Criminal Minds drabbles for shetiger's Hotch/Blackwolf universe that started in The Same Place (lj link) or here (Yuletide Archive.) This one is a little out of order because shetiger is writing a sequel that is still in progress. John Blackwolf appeared in the episode The Tribe. (1x16) When I write my manifesto on how to get others to write your rarepairings for you, I will blame it all on shetiger. PG, Spoilers for 4x10: Brothers in Arms (aka, This Week's Episode) ( Nothing So Big )And now? PANCAKES. | |

Requested by thepouncer. Five times Spencer Reid was in trouble. ( As Soon As There is Life... ) | |

| Still alive! Still not interesting. :( Little Damn Heroes by Quantum Mechanix. Adorable, but I am holding out to see if there will be a Jayne one. Cooking adventures - I tried to make monkey bread by quartering up two cans of Pillsbury "Butter-Tastin'" Grands and shaking them in a bag of cinnamon and sugar. I didn't bother with the syrup over top so I reduced the cooking time. They weren't done all the way through by the time the top was browning, so I think next time I'll make one layer in a shallow pan instead of piled up in a square pan. If any of you took my advice and read reccea's SPN BigBang story, In Production, (J2, NC-17, ~40K words), I have somehow started writing the Jensen POV.* Snippet behind the cut. (J2, R, ~1200 words.) ( Does not actually make sense unless you've read In Production. *Looks at you pointedly.* )*Please to note that this in no way means I am not still batting around the two SGA fics that need to be finished. | |

| 1. I am way behind on EVERYTHING but THANK YOU to everyone who: Cheered me up 2.5 weeks ago with the Love Meme/Back to School/SGA Cancelled post. Why does Firefox insist that "cancelled" is only spelled with one L? Is it? Also, thank you to everyone on the giant robot songs, iTunes problems, and apple fritters. There is clearly going to have to be an entire post on the glory of apple fritters. 2. I scribbled a tiny fic for sheafrotherdon's birthday. Its' been listed on the noticeboard and newsletter already, so I'm just putting a link here so when I hit the "fic" tag, I will be able to find it again. Those Deep Lagoons That You Know, John/Rodney, PG-13, the first trip back to Earth after The Siege. (My favorite SGA era, let me show you it.) 3. I went to greenygal's place last night to watch the final season of the Justice League animated series...and then I came home and bought the two JLU collections from Amazon because they were on sale and also because I had forgotten how wonderful they were. Besides being treasure troves of comic geekdom, I realized last night that it occasionally passes not only the Bechdel test, but also the brown_betty test.* Not in the same episode, I don't think, but considering they have only have 23 minutes to save the world, it's not too bad. Granted, it's helped along by the fact that most of the dialogue is about how to save the world. And then there is the awesomeness of ( Grudge Match. ) Also, if anyone has a screenshot of the last scene in that episode, with BC and Huntress airborne, would you be kind enough to share? Given the size, I'm sure trying to make an icon out of it will be hell, but I will probably try anyway. 4. I am already behind on reading for school and have been sort of slacking on some of my work tasks, so please forgive my failure rate on comments. It's not that I don't want to hang out and chat with ya'll - it's that there's a lot going on and I'm kind of a flake at the best of times. :P * I think I first heard of the brown_betty test through marag but do not have a link - it's a corollary to the Bechdel test that requires a story/movie/episode to have two characters of color having a discussion that is not all about the main, white character. I think the only stories I have written that passes this one are Kodachrome (Teyla/Bates) and maybe Hero for a New Age, depending on whether you count Teyla and Ronon's discussion about comic characters in the mess. Rodney, and why he identifies with Batman, is part of the conversation, but I think of Ronon as the main character in that story so I guess it comes down to semantics? Ugh. Weirdly, the only SGA fic I wrote that passes the Bechdel test is the one about Katie Brown. I had a much better record on that one with comics fic. | |

| Written for wojelah's prompt of, "Sunrise, shortly after they find Atlantis." Obviously, set in the nebulous AU where Sumner did not die. It will be a whole story someday, just wait. Title: Marching Into the Rays of the Sun Author: Smitty Pairing: Elizabeth Weir/Marshall Sumner Rating: PG-13 (Theme) Continuity: Post- One to Let Go but all you need to know to read this is that they slept together once before Atlantis and Sumner survived the Wraith queen and now there is awkwardness.
